How Is Crawl Space Encapsulation Done?
Proper crawl space encapsulation involves a few steps, beginning with moving the insulation envelope—which acts as an air barrier—to the perimeter walls instead of the subfloor above the crawl space. A vapor barrier will then be installed with the seams and edges adequately sealed. After that, a dehumidifier can be installed to condition the space and maintain a consistent relative humidity (RH).

Installation – On the second day, we install closed-cell spray foam at the rim joist and perimeter walls, ensuring a proper seal. We also install the Viper CS 12ML reinforced poly vapor barrier on the crawl space floor, taping all seams and joints.
Dehumidifier setup – If selected, we install and activate a dehumidifier to maintain the optimal RH in the newly conditioned crawl space.
